IPL

What is it?

Intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy uses pulses of light to break up unfavorable brown and red spots. We use this device to treat small and large areas of the body including the face, neck, chest, and hands.

What does it treat?

  • Reduced appearance of brown and red spots from sun damage
  • Reduced appearance of redness and blood vessels from rosacea
  • Reduced signs of aging skin
  • Smoother skin
  • Even skin tone

Downtime & Pain Level?

The IPL laser feels like a hot rubber band on the skin. Most patients report that the pain level ranges from a 1 to a 4 depending on where you are getting the treatment. The treatment time typically takes 5 to 10 minutes, so it is relatively short. After the treatment, your face may be red which typically lasts 3 to 4 days. We recommend avoiding excessive sun exposure and wearing spf for at least a week after treatment.

Pre & Post Care Instructions

Wear sunscreen a week before and at least a week after treatment.

Pause retinol a week before and a week after treatment.

How Often Can You Get It Done?

You may have an IPL treatment every 4 to 6 weeks depending on if additional treatment is needed.
