5 High-Histamine Foods That Can Trigger Rosacea

If you have rosacea, you may already know that rising temperatures and pollen counts can cause flares of redness and bumps. But did you know your diet can affect your skin as well? Some foods are naturally high in histamines, which dilate blood vessels in the body. This can trigger rosacea symptoms such as flushing, redness, and pustule development.  Symptoms of histamine intolerance in the body may include sinus issues, headaches, bloating, bowel inconsistencies, facial flushing, and more. Mindfulness around high histamine foods is particularly important for individuals with rosacea. Be wary of including high amounts of these five foods in your diet.
